90% of our productions focus on islands and island life and we spend many days a year filming on islands and coastal regions throughout the world. Therefore, we at Big C Productions have always felt it extremely important to offer whatever assistance we can to the people of the islands we film. During a production on Fanning Island, we supported locals financially, as well as with food, clothes, basic tools and books.

In an effort initiated by one of our translators, Laura D’ Abbondanza, members of our crew invest time, as well as compassion, in children at orphanages from the Mexican Riviera to the Caribbean. March 2005 - Orphanage Nassau
Now, we are extremely committed to helping survivors of the Tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia. In this case, the tragedy is even more personal. A friend and former co-worker of ours, Karin Wierer, lost her resort "Giragala" in Mirissa, Sri Lanka, 95 miles south of Colombo. Not only was this a disaster for her, but for the dozens of locals to which she provided employment. When we asked how we could help, she suggested we donate to a UK-based organization called “Wherever the Need Goes”. "Wherever the Need Goes" was formed in 1997 and became a registered charity the following year. It is our commitment to donate a portion of the proceeds from our products to this charity.
Karin and Nissanka consider themselves lucky to have survived the tragedy, while their daughter Alissa is still wondering what happened to her little bed, her clothes and all her favorite toys.
